A national conference was organized in every partner country and its aim was to communicate the activities and results of the PADAWAN project, mainly the intellectual outputs: The Collaborative virtual environment PADAWAN (IO1), the Training course (O2) and the Handbook for Tutors (O3).
IO1 - Collaborative Platform
The Collaborative virtual environment is designed to promote a new methodology for the improvement of 3 actors’ competences during the process of the work-based learning system, the actors being: the student, the VET Teacher and the Company Tutor.
Even if in each country of the consortium the work-based learning system is slightly different, in this intellectual output we have developed a common virtual environment that can be adapted to different national needs.
For this Intellectual Output we have defined the communication needs that Company tutor and VET trainer have during the training process and therefore, the protocol that must be set to promote the correct communication between them.
We have created an online space where the entire learning process, in the company and in the training center, is monitored by the VET Teacher and the Company Tutor, and where the apprentice has specific resources to improve his/her employability during the training.
We have also created the European Padawan Community where all actors involved in Apprenticeship system at European-level can be registered and be in touch, sharing documents and know-how.
IO2 - Training Course
The transversal training module “Soft key-competences in hospitality sector” is designed to develop apprentices’ transversal competences, to improve their adaptation to the new job, by helping the learner understand how he/she can perform on-the-job-learning in a company setting, parallel to business procedures, and to be proactive in his/her training pathway.
The course is focusing on six soft skills:
  1. Efficiency and Management of Time
  2. Creativity and Problem Solving
  3. Interpersonal Communication and Empathy
  4. Leadership and Teamwork
  5. Stress Management
  6. Digital competences
Every module gives apprentices the opportunity to extensively develop these kinds of skills with short theoretical inputs combined with practical examples of the hospitality area.
IO3 - The Handbook for Company Tutors
The handbook for Company Tutors is meant to share information and ideas that might help the Tutors in their day-to-day challenges, by focusing on the following topics:
  • My role as a company tutor
  • How can I conduct training?
  • How can I support apprentices best?
  • How can I evaluate apprentices and their learning?
  • How to work on soft skills such as communication, teamwork and leadership, diversity or dealing with stress?
